Where’s your favourite place to shred?
Rev!!! I love to go heli boarding at Revelstoke with the eagle pass.
Who inspires you?
My entire team inspires me, watching them ride pushes me to try harder each day.
What has snowboarding taught you?
That there is life after a major injury and no matter what, the only person that can limit you is yourself.

How do you mentally prepare yourself for a contest?
A few days before I start doing a lot of mental visualization to see the outcome of the race. Also listen to a lot of old school metal!
What’s your favourite part about competing?
The rush you get in the start gates. It reminds me of getting ready to sky dive.
How did you get into snowboarding?
I grew up watching all the old snowboard vids and begged my parents for a board. Living in the country at the time they must have thought “how much trouble can he get in with this?”
What’s the best contest you have ever been to?
Big White is always a great contest.

When did you decide to give up school or a job to ride full time?
Canada Snowboard had me at hello.
What do your parents think about your career?
I think they’re pretty stoked, but want to know when i’ll grow up.
Where would you hold a contest that doesn’t already have one?
Japan Para SBX!!

What is the greatest snowboard trip you’ve done and why?
The trip two years ago to Europe for the world champs in Spain was awesome. I stopped in Austria on the way home with one of the guys from the UK team and rode pow for 10 straight days staying in a small village outside Innsbruck.
Is there any place in the world you have not yet been snowboarding but have always wanted to?
New Zeland is still top of my list.
What’s your best travel tip?
Roll with the punches, if stuff doesn’t work out exactly how you wanted then who cares, have fun with it!
Funny travel story:
I got lost trying to find Munich and ended up by Berlin my first time in Germany! Apparently there is a main centre and a small village. I drove like 6 hours the wrong way. A local farmer luckily spoke english and explained that I was on the wrong side of Germany.
Where’s your one bucket-list spot to travel to?
Antartica, not sure why, I just want to see a place that no one really knows.
Which place had the best/weirdest food?
Spain had some pretty funky food!!
How do you follow your nutrition plan on the road?
It’s pretty hard to actually. I guess when in doubt order the chicken.
Who is the best travel buddy on the national team?
Michelle Salt is my fav to travel with. We usually have a good time and have epic singing contests!!
What music do you have on your playlist?
It’s everything from country to old rap. Not much of the new music though, I guess I’m getting old.
If there was one song to introduce you as your theme song, what would it be?
Top Gun Soundtrack (Kenny Loggins Danger Zone). I used to fly a Cessna quite a bit and would listen to it every time before I went up.

Still doing what I’m doing. I truly love being part of the para programs and I hope to help the para programs in Canada grow, primarily in Skate and Surf & Snow.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Don’t take anything too seriously. Get over it. Life goes on.
Favourite place you have ever been to and why?
I love Tofino, just the people and the vibe.
Other than snowboarding, do you have a favourite sport?
Skateboarding and Surfing are a tie.
